This chasuble is cut in a full, flared shape from green fabric, with a roll collar and fine gold piping along the hem. Two vertical gold lines run down the front and back, framing a central embroidered panel. The wide, flowing cut gives fullness at the front and back, in keeping with the traditional chasuble silhouette worn over the alb and stole at Mass.
Down the centre of the panel stands a tall cross, drawn in a clean gold outline. Two ears of wheat rise along its upright, and below them a vine leaf and a hanging cluster of grapes finish the design, with fine tendrils curling out to the side. The same design is repeated on the back, so the chasuble looks matched from every side.
The cross, wheat and grapes together recall the Eucharist: the bread and wine offered at the altar, and the sacrifice of Christ on the cross. Green is the liturgical colour of Ordinary Time, worn on the Sundays and weekdays outside the fixed seasons and feasts of the Church year.
The cross, wheat and grapevine are machine-embroidered at high stitch density, keeping the outline of the cross, the grains of the wheat and each grape crisp and well defined against the green ground. The gold embroidery and piping give a lasting, finished look.
Suited to parishes, chapels, seminaries and religious communities, this chasuble is worn for Mass throughout Ordinary Time and on other occasions that call for green vestments.
